Esau Rodriguez began his art career in high school when he was inspired by an art mentor to pursue a passion in painting. he began with wildlife portraits CONSISTING of lions, shark and reptiles. intrigued by how one can project emotion onto a canvas with colors, he pursued the most difficult art process that pushed him as a BEGINNER, human portraits. becoming obsessed with skin tones for years, he became one of the most SOUGHT after portrait artist in Sw Fl.

he continued to learn the human body on a SKELETAL and muscular level, to provide a more proportional and realistic outcome. during this, he also pushed himself with learning the time sensitive TECHNIQUE of speed painting. speed painting is the act of finishing a painting in a limited amount of time.

" it was in plain terms, tough.  your brain is used to taking its time, so when you force it to be immensely creative and work your hands faster than you can think, it starts to become an instinct. fluently, confident and focused."

During his adventure with colors, he also became interested in motifs that showed a darker side of life, humanity, and the animal kingdom. it became his most CONTROVERSIAL line of artwork that he had developed and soon witnessed the emotional effects that an artist can have on a spectator.

"I became aware that, if an artist chooses to, he can have a responsibility to push the onlookers emotionally as much as an artist puts into his art. after all, art is an INSTRUMENT that gives one an OPPORTUNITY to trigger a spectators emotions."

he continues to push himself with realism and mechanical structures, such as classic cars. also live paintings at events and art curating for local businesses. he CONTINUES to search for subjects, motifs and styles that he can indulge in and become obsessed with.
